The beers of St Bernardus have a wonderful secret: they are very similar beers to those of the holy grail of beer chasers, Westvleteren. In fact, the abbey used to brew Westvleteren beers for them, and it is said that they kept the same recipes and yeast when the contract ended. St Bernardus beers are traditional Belgian abbey-style ales brewed in Watou, West Flanders. Known for rich, complex profiles, the range includes strong blondes, dubbels and quadrupels with dark fruit, spice and malty depth. Once brewed in collaboration with Trappist monks, St Bernardus remains a benchmark for classic Belgian strong ales.
