Owned by the abbey, this Trappist brewery is operated by De Koningshoeven NV, a Bavaria Brewery subsidiary. Monks supervise brewing, while a secular company handles business affairs. The abbey houses a bar, shop, and museum, where a monk is employed. It sometimes hosts additional beer productions. Like fellow Trappist breweries, its aim is to sustain the monastery financially. Locally, it is informally known by its original name, De Schaapskooi.
