GWYNT Y DDRAIG CIDER Perry Vale - 500ml
Our Perry is made from a blend of pear juices that have been allowed to ferment and mature slowly. Perry Vale has a refreshing crisp flavour with an abundant pear aroma and taste that lingers on the palate, cooling the taste buds.
Perry, although not as widely known as cider, has an equally long and illustrious history. It is the product of the fermentation of specific pear varieties, grown historically in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Somerset. Perry tends to be lighter and more floral than cider. ‘Pear Cider’ is an alternative term for Perry, used in a wide range of styles.
GWYNT Y DDRAIG
Gwynt Y Ddraig is a family-owned and operated business that produces award-winning Welsh ciders. The company was founded in 200, making cider from the apples grown in their orchard in Pontypridd, Wales. Today, Gwynt Y Ddraig is one of the largest and most respected cider producers in Wales, with a reputation for crafting premium ciders using traditional methods.
Gwynt Y Ddraig offers a wide variety of ciders, including still, sparkling, and fruit-flavoured varieties. The company uses only locally-sourced apples, many of which are grown on their own orchards or sourced from neighboring farms. Gwynt Y Ddraig is committed to sustainability and uses environmentally-friendly farming practices to grow their apples.
The cider-making process at Gwynt Y Ddraig is a combination of traditional and modern methods. The company uses a state-of-the-art press to extract the juice from the apples, but then ferments the juice in oak barrels to give the cider a unique, complex flavor profile. Gwynt Y Ddraig ciders are all natural, with no added sugars or artificial flavours.
Gwynt Y Ddraig has won numerous awards for their ciders, including multiple gold medals at the Royal Welsh Show and the International Cider Challenge. Their signature Black Dragon cider has been named the Best Cider in Wales for four years running.
