Hardknott is about good beer. Really, that should be all there is to say, but as ever, it's not always that simple.
From humble beginnings at The Woolpack Pub, Dave Bailey, head brewer, doer and force majeure has taken Hardknott Brewery into the burgeoning UK craft beer scene. A few years down the line, with a lot of shiny stainless steel purchased and a lot of bold, flavourful beer sold, Hardknott are definitely part of the solution.
As they say: "Throw away your traditional constraints, leave the safety of your favourite barstool, catch up with the new and vibrant future and explore a world that will change your mind forever"
An expertly well balanced beer featuring hop varieties from across the globe, this combines fruit and citrus flavours with a caramel sweet finish.
Lots of dark roasted, toasted flavours in this delicious black beer from Hardknott. A slight sharpness and hints of chocolate round out its character.

Very pale straw in colour, with a grassy nose suggesting a hint of sweet ginger, a refreshing hint of spicy flavour and a thirst-quenchingly gentle finish.
This dark beer possesses an intruiging mix of fruityness and bitterness, along with a soft spicyness and the toasted notes of the malt.
An "oxymoronic IPA", possibly because it pours deep ruby red, possesses an earthy orange and caramel nose, and a strong Crystal malt backbone balanced by a long bitter finish from Cascade and Centennial hops.
A Belgo-American style double IPA - lots of hops, and plenty of fruity malt character
The second in the Rhetoric series - a black cherry imperial stout. Luscious and decadent.
